Workflow Guide 01

Stop Transcribing.
Start Synthesizing.

The "Live-CLN" method turns passive meeting attendance into active decision-making. Finish the meeting with a plan, not a wall of text.

The "After-Meeting" Nightmare

Standard notes are just a recording of noise. To find the action items, you have to re-read the whole thing.

John: So, I think we really need to push the API update because of the latency issues we saw last week.
Sarah: Yeah, but QA is totally swamped with the frontend release, so they can't test it until Friday at the earliest.
Mike: If we wait until Friday, we miss the client deadline on Monday. That's a huge risk.
John: Okay, can we do a smoke test only? Just the endpoints we know are broken?
Sarah: I think that's doable. I'll ask David to handle that tomorrow morning.
=Goal: Fix API latency for client deadline @deadline: Monday !QA unavailable until Friday !Risk: Miss deadline if full test required .David: Smoke test broken endpoints tomorrow#qa →Proceed with update based on smoke test

The 3-Second Rule

Don't try to write full sentences. You don't have time. As someone speaks, classify the intent instantly.

=

1. Identify Topic

When a new subject is raised, type = and 2-3 keywords.

"We need to talk about the budget."
= Budget review

.

2. Capture Action

If someone says "I will" or "We should," type . and the actor + task.

"I'll update the docs."
. Sarah: Update docs

!

3. Flag Risk

If you hear "But," "However," or "Risk," type !.

"But that might break the legacy system."
! Legacy system impact

The Standard Template

Copy this structure into your note-taking app before the meeting starts.

Template: meeting.cln Copy
@date: 2026-03-01 @attendees: [List names] =Agenda .Topic 1 .Topic 2 .Discussion Notes ~Key tensions or debates *Important context →Decisions Made =Decision summary !Blockers / Risks .Action Items .[Who] needs to [do what] by [when]

Reclaim your time.

Your next meeting doesn't have to be a black hole of productivity. Bring a structure, leave with a plan.
