The Official Standard
Cognitive Ladder Notation
= Plain-text semantic notation @ Active Cognition Tool
One line, one fact. One symbol, one role. Zero ambiguity. CLN is the first notation designed specifically for analytical summarization.
01/The Essence
= Plain-text semantic notation for structured thinking.
= Structure logic: One line = One fact | Operator = Semantic role.
= Not a rendering markup (like Markdown) — but a tool for organizing neurons.
02/Operator Set Standard
= Definition What is it? (Essence)
. Action What to do? (Step/Operation)
|| Resource With what? (Tool/Requirement)
@ Metadata Who/When/Where? (Context)
! Risk What can go wrong? (Warning)
? Unknown What don't we know? (Hypothesis)
* Note By the way... (Context/Side-note)
+ Pro Argument FOR (Strength)
- Con Argument AGAINST (Weakness)
03/The Rules of Engagement
. 4-space indentation: Mandatory for hierarchy.
. Level 0 Header: Always start with the context (e.g., SUMMARY:, TASK:).
. No nested Markdown: Operators replace bolding, italics, or lists.
! The Scan Test: Read only the operator column. If you can grasp the logic without reading the words, the CLN is perfect.
04/Strengths & Limits
+ Anti-Amnesia: Forcing a structure onto AI output builds active judgment.
+ Universal: Works in any plain-text environment (Notepad, Discord, Code Editors).
- Not suited for narrative, poetry, or emotional prose.
