Notes
In CLN, Notes are not digital paper; they are semantic
atoms. Each note is a compressed, typed, and linked packet of
information designed for high-speed retrieval and algorithmic processing.
01/The Semantic Atom
Unlike traditional notes which are "prose-heavy," a CLN note follows the principle of high density:
=
Immutable: A note defines a single, clear fact
or concept.
=
Typed: Its role is defined by operators
(
!, =, .).
=
Networked: It exists only in relation to other
notes via
#tags and →.

03The Forward Vector
A note is "alive" if it points toward a future action or state. This is the Vector Property of CLN v1.6:
→
Static: "The server is down." (A dead end).
→
Vector: "Server down → Switch to backup." (A live
instruction).
*
Insight: Vectors remove the need for "thinking"
during a crisis. The path is already drawn.
*
Self-Test: What makes a note "unstructured"?
||
Ambiguity. If you can't tell if a sentence is a fact, a
task, or a risk without reading it twice, it is
unstructured and cognitively expensive. ||
