Feynman Technique
"If you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it." Familiarity is not
mastery. The Feynman Technique exposes the difference between
knowing a name and knowing a concept.
01/The Explanation Test
Audit
= Feynman Technique: A method of learning
through simplified, jargon-free explanation.
= Goal: To find the "gap" where your
understanding ends and illusion begins.
02/The Algorithm
. Pick a concept you think you know.
. Explain it in writing as if to a
12-year-old.
- Rule: No jargon
allowed.
- Rule: No "basically" or "it just is."
? Where do you get stuck or feel vague?
= This is your knowledge gap. Return to source
material.
03/CLN: The Notation Form
Standard
CLN is the Feynman Technique automated by syntax:
+ Definition (@) forces a
single irreducible truth.
+ Process (.) forces a logical
sequence without skipping steps.
+ Question (?) forces the
admission of what remains unknown.
04Finding Gaps
EXPOSED
! Prose hides gaps behind fluent
sentences.
! CLN exposes gaps through structural
requirements.
* Don't write what you know. Write to find out
what you don't.
* The blank line is your teacher.
