Rubber Duck Debugging
! The duck never answers. That is the feature. @ Hunt & Thomas (1999)
The act of articulation forces the implicit to become explicit. Rubber Duck Debugging isn't a joke—it's a way to break the internal monologue's habit of skipping "obvious" steps.
01/The Inanimate Collaborator
= Rubber Duck Debugging: Solving a problem by explaining it line-by-line to an object.
= Goal: To spot the error in your own logic through forced articulation.
02/The Mechanism Articulation
. Internal thought is fast but messy; it skips over assumptions.
. Explaining aloud/in writing forces linearization.
- You must state the premise before the conclusion.
= Gaps in logic become visible (or audible) mid-sentence.
03/CLN: The Professional Duck
🦆
"The page is a duck that remembers what you said."
+ Speaking is ephemeral. Writing is permanent.
+ CLN blocks can be audited and refined by you (or an AI).
+ You don't need a toy. You need a = line to anchor the truth.
04The Debugging Block

When stuck, don't just "think harder." Write this:

= GOAL: Expected outcome of the code/logic.
= CURRENT: What is actually happening.
? GAP: Where exactly does reality diverge from the goal?
* The answer was never in the duck. It was in the articulation.
