Filter Failure
! There is no information overload, only filter failure. @ Web 2.0 Expo, 2008
The problem is not the volume of information. The problem is that our dams are broken. Filter Failure occurs when we save without processing, moving the flood from the inbox to a "Read Later" graveyard. CLN solves this by making structuring the act of filtering.
01/The Dam, Not the Water
= Filter Failure: Inability to select relevant info from a stream.
. Fact: Abundance is permanent. Filtering must be permanent too.
02/How We Fail
- Default Acceptance: Saving everything "just in case."
- No Categorization: Flat folders full of unread PDFs.
- No Summarization: Keeping full texts without extracted signals.
! Result: Cognitive debt that is never paid off.
03/Active Filtering Algorithm CLN Logic

In CLN, the act of "extracting" is the act of "filtering":

. Step 1: Read/Watch the content.
. Step 2: Is there signal?
- No → Delete immediately (Filter Success).
+ Yes → Extract into a CLN Block.
. Step 3: Structure by role (=, !, .).
04The Paradigm Shift
+ Old way: Save now, filter never.
+ CLN way: Filter at the gate; save the structure.
* Note: If you can't write a CLN block for it, it was noise.
* Self-Test: Does saving a link solve filter failure? || No, it only moves the flood to a different location. Only active structuring solves it. ||
