"What follows?"
Operator CLN v2.1 Plain-text · Universal
01// → — Definition

Concludes. States implications. Declares outcomes.

Cognitive question answered: "What follows?"
One line = one semantic unit. The Arrow operator tells the reader — before they read the content — that this line answers: What follows?
02// When to use it

Use → for conclusions drawn from analysis, consequences of actions, and stated outcomes. → is the logical endpoint — 'given all of the above, this follows'.

When NOT to use it:
Don't use → as a general 'next step' bullet — that's .. → means 'this is what the above leads to'. It's conclusive, not imperative.

→early deploy detected — rollback immediately
→circuit breaker added — payment failure won't cascade
→operator choice is a cognitive act — not labeling after the fact
04// Operator Pairs

Operators don't work in isolation — they form semantic pairs that together convey full cognitive structure:

== defines the premise · → states the conclusion
.. is the action taken · → is the outcome of that action
~~ names an unresolved tension · → states the chosen resolution
